Madison Holland is an artist living and working in Seattle, Washington. She grew up in the area and spent most of her summers on a small rock in the Puget Sound. There she attended a summer camp that- quite literally changed her life- she was introduced to any and all forms of art making and outdoor exploring. She went on to teach at that very summer camp where she helped run the illustrious art department for 3 years.
While teaching in the summer months, the rest of the year was spent earning her BFA in printmaking from The San Francisco Art Institute. There she honed her usage of intricate repetitive patterns. Most of her work deals with organizing chaos and creating her own renditions of imagined landscapes.
Madison was an artist in residence at The Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont, where she explored her large-scale painting practice. Post VSC, she started to expand and market her mural skills. She is inspired by the natural world around her and the small parts of the larger whole. Madison often stops while on walks to collect rocks or small leaves to add to her inspiration folder (both tangible and in her mind), this often leads to heavy pockets and interesting new projects
She works within the painting and printmaking mediums, often melding the two. Madison is currently working on a new series of imagined landscapes where she uses photography and digital drawings to recreate places in her mind's eye.
Madison is available for commissions and murals. She’s worked with agencies in the area, developing branding motifs and illustrations for clients. See her instagram for her most recent work and past murals! @MADHOLLA
